Found in areas of mixed coral, sand and rubble of exposed outer reef flats, lagoon and seaward reefs (Ref. 1602 , 48636 ). Benthopelagic . Feeds mainly on mollusks, crabs, and hermit crabs, and occasionally on tunicates and forams .
