The luxurious and intimate KLM Sunshine offers Divers the trip of a lifetime to off-the-beaten path dive sites in a traditional Indonesian Phinisi.
The KLM Sunshine was hand-built in South Sulawesi following the centuries-old tradition of building Phinisi entirely of wood. Since 2011, this liveaboard has given well-catered tours to an intimate group of Divers around Indonesia’s hard-to-reach dive sites.
Built and designed by the owners of the Blue Bay Divers Resort, the KLM Sunshine leaves nothing to be desired. Guests will have access to an air-conditioned Restaurant, shaded and open Sundecks as well as a 'chill-out' area. There is a variety of comfortable seating for all 8 guests.
The KLM Sunshine holds only 8 guests in 4 cabins. Two of the Staterooms are found on the Upper Deck and feature a Double berth, air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. The Lower Deck Staterooms feature the same amenities. Because of this liveaboard’s popularity and limited space, it is best to book the KLM Sunshine as far in advance as possible.
Food and beverage
The Chef and Crew on board the KLM Sunshine believe that providing delicious food is as important as excellent diving. You’ll awaken to a large assortment of breakfast items and fruit. Lunch and the varied Dinner menu will be laid out as a buffet. All-day snacks will keep you feeling full between meals.
The cuisine on board is as colorful as the diving. Delicious curries and fresh Seafood are expertly prepared by the crew. Western options are also served. Should you have any dietary requirements, please inform the crew ahead of departure so that they can accommodate you. Vegetarian options are often available.
While you are traveling with the KLM Sunshine, all food, snacks, soft drinks, coffee and tea are included in your stay. Beer and wine are also available for an extra fee.
The KLM Sunshine gives divers plenty of space to relax during non-diving hours.
All 8 Divers can spread out in separate areas or they can congregate in the air-conditioned Restaurant to watch one of the many DVDs on the TV. There is also a small library with fish identification books. There is sure also to be plenty of discussion about the day’s diving as well as photo sharing between friends.
In addition to diving, the crew of the KLM Sunshine often offers land excursions. You might have the opportunity to snorkel among shallow reefs or sunbathe on a pristine, black-sand beach. Either way, you’re sure to enjoy the above the water activities as much as you enjoy those below the surface.
The KLM Sunshine is a Nitrox-only Boat. Please be aware that you will need a Nitrox certification to participate in diving on this liveaboard. If you don’t have a certification, you can take the course at the Blue Bay Divers resort prior to departure.
Daily housekeeping is provided.
