Details

The Maldives, renowned for its rare and abundant marine life, is home to Manthiri, our luxurious live-aboard

How to describe the underwater experience of Maldives? Pristine. Lush. Vibrant. Extraordinary. These are the only words that come close. Uninhabited islands and waters zealously guarded by Maldivians from commercial fishing provide shelter for dazzling aquatic species in stunning numbers, awaiting discovery by Divers aboard Manthiri.

Our emerald islands, ringed with coral and numbering more 1,190 in the archipelago, house species that run the gamut from blooming corals to big pelagics. It’s not simply the variety and drama of the species but also their sheer numbers that will astonish you. Friendly encounters with fish in the thousands, from the tiniest to the largest, are common experiences on the varied dive sites.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

MY Manthiri is a long-established and trusted name on the Maldive Islands liveaboard scene. Although not the largest boat operating in the atoll chain, a 7.6 metre beam makes the boat stable and allows for spacious en-suite cabins, teak-panelled Saloon with onboard Wi-Fi internet and Dive Deck.

Manthiri’s spacious cabins, beckoning decks and quality equipment are all rigorously well-maintained, but that’s only half of our commitment to excellence. Our other constant goal is service and an endless quest for perfection.

Manthiri, our beautiful 85-foot (25.9 meter) liveaboard is powerfully built of fine tropical timber and custom-designed for Dive Cruises. No more than twelve guests are invited on each cruise and our attentive eleven-person crew ensures that every need is met. Conducting Maldives diving safaris around the best dive sites of the atolls, the Manthiri feels like a much larger boat than it is.

Photographers can benefit, not only from the camera racks, tank, table, laptop, CD burner and projector, but also from the assistance of the Photographic Professional on board. So if your idea of a great Maldives liveaboard safari is to be looked after by experienced, friendly staff on a spacious and comfortable boat without too many Divers, then MY Manthiri is definitely worth considering.

Manthiri’s teak-paneled Salon is one of the largest found on any vessel of this size. Relaxingly furnished with expansive, upholstered sofas, it also offers a state-of-the-art music system, DVD player, and multi-system TV/VCR with video camera viewing facilities. The camera salon is equipped with a well-lit work station, a computer for instant download of digital photos and a slide projector. Manthiri has been outfitted by professionals with Underwater Photographers in mind.

Our separate, specially outfitted dive tender, called a dhoni, provides a home for compressors, Nitrox systems and dive gear, creating the equivalent of a 106-foot (32.3-metre) liveaboard on the main vessel — one with just six cabins and its own gracious dive deck. With the dhoni, that’s how spacious Manthiri feels.

WINE AND DINE IN MANTHIRI LUXURY LIVEABOARD MALDIVES

Having cut their teeth at a top-class resort hotel, both our waiter Madhee and house-keeper Rashad, are in a class by themselves. Dining on board achieves the same tempting quality and sophistication as our diving experiences. Trained at a top Maldivian resort, professional Chefs Bodey and Hema ensure a sophisticated twist on the contemporary flavors of Maldives, a tasteful blend of East and West.

Seasoned by ten years of serving on board Manthiri, our Chefs know precisely how to pamper Divers with the finest seafood, aromatic local specialities and global cuisine, their popular barbeque guaranteed to suit the palates of guests from around the World. Diners are further enticed by a refreshing array of fresh fruit and vegetables, delectably prepared.

Both our menu and our dining hours have been crafted to meet the needs of Divers. Our Chefs begin each day by offering a pre-dive mini breakfast. A full breakfast is served after Divers resurface and snacks are always available between dives. So even between meals, our cuisine is delicious, abundant and invigorating. Guests are presented with a welcome drink and dining begins with a light brunch on the first day of the safari.

The gracious standard of Manthiri is evident the moment you step off the plane in Maldives.

Our representative will greet you at Malé International Airport and accompany you to the transfer vessel we’ve arranged to breeze you to Manthiri. Fastidiously maintained and in operation for twenty years with a superb crew, Manthiri is widely acknowledged as one of the finest liveaboards in the World.
