Liveaboard Astrea is a custom built dive vessel, a smaller and more personalized steel-hulled yacht that transports Dive Safari Adventurers to the most spectacular Pelagic Diving on the Planet. The Galapagos is a unique marine environment and truly a dive Mecca for any Serious Divers. This Dive Safari will reveal hundreds of Sharks, Sea Turtles, giant Morays and schooling fish numbering in the thousands. Here is the place where it all began, Darwin Island and Wolf Island with mammoth Galapagos Sharks and Eagle Rays, and Cabo Marshall where Divers will come face to face with giant Manta Rays and ancient land creatures.
Astrea liveaboard is a mono-hulled dive vessel 83 feet (25m) that caters to small and intimate groups of Dive Safari Adventurers and is the best deal for those on a limited budget. The friendly and experienced crew of 9 English and Spanish speaking professionals can accommodate up to 16 guests. The yacht’s 8 cabins are standard cabins with private en-suite bathrooms and have bunk beds. The lower deck cabins have portholes and central air-conditioning while all the other cabins have windows and individual air-conditioning. Each is equipped with bathroom with toilet and hot water shower, hand basin and towels, reading lights, shelves and mirror, and 2-flat pin 110-220V electricity.
The yacht’s indoor lounge with cushioned seating and has an entertainment center for watching movies or listening to music. Relax with a beer from the Bar or use the onboard computer to view the spectacular photos you will be capturing. The land excursions to the Darwin Center will provide insights into the history of these incredible islands. If you can’t get enough of the underwater sights, do some snorkeling between dives.
The liveaboard Astrea’s Chefs understand that abundant and savory food is essential for the energy Divers need on their Dive Safaris. The Astrea’s meals are served menu-style using only the freshest ingredients. The cuisine will include a variety of Ecuadorian and International cuisines. Meals are served in the main dining area in the air-conditioned Saloon located on the main deck. The quaint and cozy area features dining with a panoramic view of the island vistas. Meals include pre-breakfast, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are provided during the day (chocolate, fried plantain, cheese, popcorn, cookies, tuna mousse) to make sure no Diver goes hungry.
Coffee, tea, juice, drinking water and soft drinks are all provided free of charge. Special dietary needs will be accommodated with advance notice. Other soft drinks, beer and wine can be purchased onboard.
