Diving in South Korea

Explore diving in South Korea

South Korea has something for everyone. Culture, history, food and festivals - there’s always something happening and something good to eat. From temples to the mountains and forests to pristine beaches on remote islands, there’s always somewhere to escape the bustle.

Thankfully for divers, there’s excellent diving found at the many dive sites readily accessible from all the major cities, including Seoul, which is abundantly covered with dive shops.

South Korea has great seasonal diving that’s not to be missed, with warm waters from the South China Sea in summer and colder currents in winter combining to make for some unique dive experiences.

When to dive in South Korea

Most of the scuba diving in South Korea is enjoyed along the southern portion of the east coast and around Jeju Island. Water temperatures in Jeju range between 21ºC to 29ºC in summer (June to August) and is the most popular time to dive. In January the water temperatures in Jeju ranges between 13ºC to 16ºC so a drysuit is recommended.

Juju has a longer dive season due to less currents/ surface conditions compared to other parts of South Korea. This being said, depending on your experience it is possible to dive year round,
