Romania is located in South-East Central Europe.
The diving takes place along the Black sea, although cave and lake diving is popular. There are numerous lakes and the mountain glacial lakes in the South Carpathians are very clear. For deep diving the lakes created by dams are popular.
Caves are very numerous in Romania and again this is also popular. Because of the low salinity in the Balck Sea most of the wrecks are well preserved. The Sadu is a cargo boat of 106 metres which sank in 1988 and is on her side at 90 degrees and can be entered.
YOU XIU Wreck - a bulk carrier of 167 metres which sank in 1995 and is at a depth of 24 metres and can be penetrated.
The Paris wreck - the Paris is another bulk carrier of 174 metres which sank in 1995 and is at 22 metres. The wreck has been split in two parts.
For cave divers, the Isverna cave - the most interesting place for cave diving in Romania is Isverna cave which is in the Apuseni mountains.
