During those days, many divers headed for Paros, Crete and Santorinin, despite landing in Athens. However, the changed laws have opened some really exciting sites around Athens. The best ones are Voulgameni and Sounio. Here the deep rocky formations add immense beauty to the underwater landscape. The waters around Athens coast are teeming with such species as tuna, barracuda, octopus, squid and cuttlefish. There are also beautiful reef formations that provide refuge to a colorful marine life, typical of Mediterranean Sea.
